The 3rd release on microCastle Music comes from the Tokyo based DJ/Producer Makotrax in the form of ‘Cold White’. Makotrax has been producing techno and progressive tracks for the last few years but really rose to prominence when he won the ‘frisky Records’ remix competition in 2008. More recently he (as ‘The Signal’) has released one of the years finest progressive tracks ‘Implode’ also on frisky. With forthcoming remixes on Mango Alley and microCastle, Makotrax is a producer on the rise. ‘Cold White’ is a guitar looping, bassline driven, quirky sounding progressive track with a very warm summery feel that is sure to find favour with a broad range of club DJs. The first remix comes from one of microCastle’s primary label artists: Peter Martin. His Cold White mix is a driving, energetic progressive monster complete with swirling atmospherics and an enormous bassline. Peter’s recent and upcoming productions are currently being played by Nick Warren & Hernan Cattaneo. The leaders in the new wave Israeli techno movement, Astronivo deliver the next interpretation. Their mix is a nice compliment to the package as it’s a stripped down bass-heavy techno affair with monster spacious production; very well suited for a big club dancefloor no doubt. The package is topped off with a shocking remix from Niko Fantin. Normally known for his more minimal, tech-influenced, refined productions; Niko has shown his versatility here delivering an over the top, storming progressive trance anthem with a breakdown so drenched in atmosphere that it is sure to leave clubland dancefloors worldwide covered in goose bumps!
