The first release on microCastle Music comes from Peter Martin who is no stranger to the progressive scene having countless tracks licensed to many heavyweight CD compilations over the years…most notably Paul Oakenfold’s Creamfields & Nick Warren’s Shanghai Global Underground. Peter’s Original mix of ‘Secret Door’ is a dark and dirty blend of progressive techno with some nice acid laden funk! Definitely one for a serious dancefloor. The first mix comes from Cid Inc. who is one of the most cutting edge and innovative producers in underground dance music today, he is well known for being half of the legendary Mashtronic production duo that has had their tracks featured on the most respected labels in the industry. Cid Inc’s mix of Secret Door is a tough & hypnotic progressive gem that uses some of the acid lines from the original to great effect…a monster rework no doubt. One of the mainstays of the progressive scene for many years Derek Howell provides one of his finest remix productions to date. His interpretation has a dirty big room vibe and a killer club groove. Cassino & Laben provide the final remix on the ‘Secret Door’ package, their mix is a swirling & atmospheric rework that combines both techno & progressive elements…a superb mix from this great production team! Also included on this release are 2 more of Peter’s original productions. ‘Shock’ is a big grungy breaks track with some nice melodic elements, a great vocal sample and some serious modulation in the breakdown. The classy ‘Salt & Light’ rounds out the release quite nicely, a downtempo piece with a piano section and a very melancholic melody that would not sound out of place in a film score.
