Following the massive success of The Secret Door EP, Peter Martin returns with The Spacerock EP for the 4th release on microCastle Music. Peter’s Spacerock Original is a blissful summery progressive trance tune with a large pulsating bassline and so many great warm melodic elements.
The first remix comes from one of the most in demand producers in dance music; Hungary’s Soliquid. His productions have been featured on some of the most high profile mix compilations in the industry; most notably John Digweed’s Transitions Vol. 4 & Hybrid’s Soundsystem 01. His Spacerock interpretation adds an infectious tech oriented groove and one of this years most memorable and finely crafted emotional breakdowns which should provide many magical dancefloor moments; a phenomenal piece of music from one of dance music’s most gifted producers! A copy of the Soliquid mix was given to Nick Warren upon completion and he has been playing it in his sets worldwide for the past several months.
The next mix comes from London’s Ad Brown who has quickly been rising up the progressive ranks this year with a string of quality releases on Blackhole. Ad’s Spacerock mix is a big progressive trance interpretation with one of the most murderous basslines in recent memory…be careful your ribs don’t crack when the bottom drops out!
Following the much sought after Offshore/Groovelock on Inkfish Records, Greece’s Kassey Voorn delivers the next mix, a more refined and atmospheric interpretation. Kassey’s mix has a very bottom heavy, big room feel that flows quite nicely, when the atmosphere rises in the final breakdown and it all drops back in the payoff is spectacular.
Japan’s Makotrax follows up his summery Cold White single with a tough yet melodic techno mix of Spacerock. The Makotrax mix keeps the key melodic elements from the Original but toughens up the overall mix with a tough bottom end and some very clever edits.
Also included on the Spacerock EP are two more of Peter’s Original productions; Running Out of Breath & Buenos Tardes. Running Out of Breath is a funky, melodic progressive track with great twinkly keys and a very unique, grungy sounding bassline. Capping off the Spacerock package is Buenos Tardes; a funky, clanky house tune that is both cheerfully melodic and sonicly brilliant; one for the Ibiza sun perhaps!
