JATO is an acronym for Jet-Assisted Take-Off. The term is used inter changeably with the (more specific) term RATO, for Rocket-Assisted Take-Off. It is a system for helping over loaded planes into the air by providing additional thrust in the form of small rockets.
JATO-UNIT is primarily focusing on modern, futuristic and contemporary minimal techno.

The Imprint / Mission
Pseudonym is an artist's name of choice, with or without hold in the realm that surrounds him.
With a Pseudonym, you never know what to expect or who is hiding behind the name of choice.
The Releases
The record label consists of a collaboration between jato-unit recordings and world renowned visual artist Marco Evaristti. jato-unit will be responsible for the music repertoire while Marco Evaristti will be in charge of all visual and intellectual values of the releases.
Pseudonym process in a reversed workflow. Music will be created after the story has been written, which means musicians has to work within the realm of the story created before them.
The First Release
Based on Gene Hathorns life on Death Row in Texas, the first release will put focus on capital punishment. Gene Hathorn has donated his own body to Marco Evaristti, after he get executed. Marco Evaristti will turn his body into fish food, so the audience can ‘feed Gene Hathorns to the fish’, literally.
On this release, the musicians have to, musically, interpret the issue regarding capital punishment. Be it the melancoly of life or the sunrise after death.

To emphasize the inmates’ relation to time, the title of the EP will be “5212”. To the inmates, time is always 5 minutes from execution.
The Vision
Fusing avantgarde artwork with
contemporary music, into a new state of coexistence.
The 12" EP will be made in two editions. One will be available for general retail and a special, limited edition, for exhibitions and art-book stores, called “Exhibition Edition”.
The Exhibition Edition will be sold in a numbered quantity (similar to a lithography)as well as personal signatures by the artists.
The release date was set to be the 10th of December 2009 at the grand opening of Marco Evaristti’s new exhibition in Ny Adelgade, Copenhagen.
This release will help enlightening people about life on death row and by buying, the consumer will support financially as well as spiritually to Gene Harthorns’ somewhat pointless life.
