Ready Mix Records was established in Montreal by Adel "BiG AL" Ghandour and partner Zee Soussane in 1999 with a vision to offer a product that is artistically whole, esthetically beautiful and musically explosive. Our covers are designed and created by unique and talented artists the same way our music is, allowing the cover of our audible journey be the canvas of our designer's vision.
Our mission: To export and expose fresh up and coming Canadian talent globally and visa versa import & introduce new global talent locally.
We invite you to enter the world of our covers, embark on our journey of sound and collect parts of our universe.
In September 2007, Ready Mix Records put forth Stan Kolev’s first album entitled “Emotional Content”, and closed out the year with a bang drawing “5 star” rave reviews for the quality of music on the entire record from DJ Mag, OurHouse, Bigshot, Exclaim, ProgressiveHouse.com, WorldDJ.com to name a few.
To keep things rolling for the New Year, we follow up on this impressive body of work as we present the second Stan Kolev single off of the very album that was praised as “Stand out album of the year!” by progressivehouse.com & the global music community.
This release in the series unites Stan with another artist who also saw the release of his debut full-length album last year.
Eelke Kleijn’s “Naturally Artificial” also drew the admiration of the masses when it was released on Global Underground. Based in Rotterdam, Eelke’s talent is undeniable, having propelled himself as one of the premiere producers of deep, tech, and progressive house in Europe today, having over 120 compositions in his discography.
Flashback signaled a high point in Stan’s album with its string of harmonies, driving rhythm, shaky highs and a growling bassline. It became an instant favorite with its timeless riff and was licensed to A3TV’s 30 Minute high energy show about the Miami nightlife called “Wildlife” broadcasting on BPM TV in Canada & A3TV in the USA.
This release offers the “Side Chain Mix” which is an extended DJ friendly version of the “Album Version” along with Eelke’s remix.
Eelke gives the track a do over and launches it into a new stratosphere. Taking the tempo down a notch, and transforming the beats by stripping them, he decorates layer upon layer of original eclectic and electric melodic elements on top of a gnarly bassline that is even more twisted than the original. This track is fresh, impressive, heavily entertaining and seeing major early support from Hernan Cattaneo, Desyn Masiello & Thomas Penton to name a few.
