"To think 'Outside the Box' is to see things beyond the norm, to think beyond the limitations of consciousness and experience. To be a visionary".
Outside the Box Music was launched in 2006 and is the creative outlet of Dutchman Eelke Kleijn. Besides being a home base for his own productions, Outside the Box Music aims to release quality music from upcoming as well as established producers. In terms of music the label is as diverse as its name suggests, many releases not being easy to pigeonhole into a certain style but instead cross the conventional borders between them.
With releases and remixes by the likes of Dualtone (Johan Vermeulen / Jermain Hatusupy from Fine Taste & Infinitize), Kosmas Epsilon, Nick Hogendoorn, Roger Martinez, Sebastian Davidson and head-honcho Eelke Kleijn himself, the label has built up a pretty varied sound and identity. DJ Support has come from many different corners, including Hernan Cattaneo, Jimmy van M, Anthony Pappa, Fish Go Deep, Paul van Dyk and Nick Warren. Outside the Box Music is slowly but steadily becoming a well known name in quality house music.

The first ever sampler on Outside the Box Music features 3 tracks by up and coming Dutch producers. First we have 'Titanium White' by Maslow and MKN; by far one of the best tracks we have heard this year. In all its simplicity, this track yet manages to create an impact with each additional layer. This one is an excellent set builder or closer to set the mood.
'Erato' is where the EP really takes off. Robin Onrust & Deepmind manage to capture a vibe we haven't heard in a while, slightly reminiscent of the 2002 progressive sound. Flanged effects and stabs draw you into the track, while melodic hits join in along the way for an epic builder that will definitely lift your set to another level.
Robin & Deepmind demonstrate they have a great talent for creating intelligent grooves as well. 'Only on the B Side' is easily as hypnotic as Erato, but more dancefloor friendly in terms of current day trends. We're positive this funky monster will appeal to a lot of people and DJs!
Early support from Hernan Cattaneo!

"I must admit, the last two promos on OTB were VERY hard to top, but there are lots of interesting tracks here. This is the very definition of "outside the box" thinking. Erato is the best of the three, in my opinion. This has a very good groove, nice atmosphere, and layering of fx." - 4.0 / 5
