Guatemalan Mickey Franco has been working his way through the Latin American electronic music scene playing alongside major talent from all over the globe. His track “Digital Imprint” reached the Top 40 on Beatport. Now he’s teaming up with studio partner Chilly to bring you an incredibly futzed up track.
This is a recipe for dark bubble tech. Simply simmer in a big black pot: a fudged bass line and a tubular cow bell tone. Toss in some barbed wire and tin can backing for an echo chop unlike anything you have heard recently. It's wonky as hell (and we're not talking Willy) and you won’t be able to take your ears off it!
A subtle dark wind blows through the track giving up no secrets but tying the whole into a glowing stew that will pull everyone to the table. The chef is cooking with grease and so will your dance floor. The track is open enough that you can position it at pretty much any speed – delicious.
Crispin's remix opens up the track with his sunny galloping redo. The deep darkness is swept away into a rubber ball bounce of a bass, highlighted with silvery tops. The dark vocal from the original is cleared and used as a vocal stab imploring us to "listen". It may be difficult as you will be busy dancing! Summer sun for the middle of winter.
