Roger Dassen, the head honcho behind Extremamusic.com, has received many release-worthy tracks and some of them were so good they never left the CD-player at his office. After much contemplation Roger decided he needed to do something with all this great music, hence Hot Kitchen Records was born.
Hot Kitchen Records has something to heat you up during the coming winter: A brand new release full of energy, produced by Chris Beemster and Auke Ferwerda, better known as Duotone. Everything they touch seems to turn into gold. With many releases on well-respected labels such as Satoshi Tomiie’s Saw Records, and collaborations with amongst others the legendary DJ Yellow, this release breathes success.
Starting off with “Bonking”, a thrilling track which will have people hanging on the edge of their seats: It grabs you and doesn’t let go. Compared to the more funky and melodic work we know Duotone for, this track has a more old-school rave feel to it and is perfect for getting the crowd into a trance. A late night-sessions must-have!
“Blinking” is more uplifting and has some smooth deep-house elements in it. From the first notes on, your head will be nodding and your feet will be tapping. 10 minutes of deep and dirty sounds, dancing guaranteed!
Last, but certainly not least, the brothers Don & Roel Funcken of Funckarma, made a smashing “Bonking Remix” under the name Cane, which is one of their many aliases. These men definitely have a lot of expertise. They have been active in the industry for many years and have produced and remixed numerous tracks of which some appeared on the renowned WARP label.
Their trip into space starts with thick baselines, flowing into a tuneful intermezzo after which it kicks back in with a powerful bass that will set the dance floors on fire. Eargasm!!

"Blinking is my favorite. Some interesting tracks here, but I didn't feel this was quite as strong as the previous Dirty Disorder release on this label. This is a very experimental sound, lot of interesting sounds, the Techno heads will enjoy it. For me, the kick in these songs is too weak to work on the dancefloor." - 4.0 / 5
