Just as successful as their events is the Extrema Music record label. Extrema Records is also part of the Extrema family. With some brilliant releases like Bart van Wissen ‘One Reason' and Matthew Dekay's 'Time to Think' , Extrema Music has proven to be a serious player in the quality dance segment. Headed by labelmanager Bas Baetsen, this label has got a very bright future ahead of it, specialising in sounds ranging from progressive to phatt quality house music. Extrema Records has gone on to release compositions from established producers such as Jamie Anderson, Rene Amesz & Bart van wissen, to up and coming talent such as Fine Taste, Jay Lumen & Add2Basket. More and more people are getting aware that Extrema is delivering the goods. Extrema is aiming at original quality music, original stuff with a strong edge and for 2008 you can expect high tech forward thinking studio work from one of dance music's finest purveyors.
Sam ‘o Neall found his love for tech-house at a young age and it wasn’t long before he became a household name people were talking about.
Sam soon got the opportunity to show his skills at big outdoor festivals, such as Extrema, where he delivered spectacular shows.
He seems to have the knack of knowing exactly what people want to hear and his relentless enthusiasm is what makes him stand out. It is obvious that this DJ lives and breathes music. Innovative, steamy and funky are the words you think of when Sam’s beats start thumping. He is also not new to the field of production. His previous production work is known for its clear sound and deep inclinations and has been noticed by dutch DJ’s such as Benny Rodrigues, Afrojack, Rene Amesz and Hardwell, just to name a few.
For Extrema Records, Sam delivered this well produced package that already found its way in the club promo field!
“My Face” is a sublime minimal techhouse track with intricate layers of different sounds and funny effects, wrapped around a smooth percussion and beat arrangement, but also building to an emotive dark string-laden climax.
We also have a B-side to this release, “Cameltoe”. The playfull weight of its basslines and the increasingly tech house melodie carves itself out as an interesting character. The energy level remains constant, slightly affected by subtle changes, as the track continues its way.
