Hailing from the Russian Federation, Tesla Da Vinci brings his delectable blend of Progressive House to the Canadian imprint Catch 33 Recordings. Following up on the recent success of the 'Electricity EP' (Elektrax Progressive) Tesla Da Vinci has done it once again with the Ions EP.
In this mid-summer package the title track Ions takes us into the deeper side of Progressive House. As the breakdown unfolds Tesla adds the unforgettable guitar hook that becomes the focus of the track. As the beat kicks back in, the spine tingling bassline shakes the room with a steady groove, incorporating layers of strings and synthetic pads to provide the perfect ambiance.
One of the Netherlands most promising acts Tiako brilliantly reworks 'Ions', taking it to another level. Tiako plays with the guitar hook from the Original Mix, hollowing it out to the likes of a sound similar to the pan flute, introducing new drops, layers of intricately placed crisp tec-style percussion, elusive sound effects, and some fresh new clavs into the mix.
One for fans of Sebastian Leger, the A-440 Remix is more of a stripped down take on Ions. Although no new elements were added the harmonic components of the Original Mix are feed trough a whole new set of patches with electrifying results.
In the second part of the Ions EP, Tesla Da Vinci takes us on another exquisite ride with Life Cycle. A stand alone track, Life Cycle is a full-on aural sensation, boasting the best of 80's inspired synths, arpeggiated acid lines and a bassline to rip your heart out.
The Tube Jerkers remix is a full on four to the floor Electro House take on Life Cycle. For those who crave big bass, your in the right place. Perfect for all club-heads this main room floor shaker has more of a commercial feel.
