He dedicates a great deal of time to instructional teachings at Bellarmine University, where he helps educate the Music Technology students in various music production programs. His life has been a culmination of production, teaching, and music business. All of which have helped climb the ladder of the Music industry. He has a Bachelors in Music, and has continued his education by getting certifications though Berklee Music for “Music Business,” certification through Digidesign as a “Certified Pro Tools Operator,” and personal instruction for Audio (CD) Mastering by some of the most knowledgable gurus of the CD mastering world. All of this has helped him develop his own style of music, and his electronic music label “Protium Music” (a company dedicated to pushing the envelope of hybrid House, Techno and Trance styles). As a DJ, Soren spends most of his time here in the US and Canada. He has played some of the biggest outdoor events including: WMC, WEMF, Even Further, and others. He has headlined stages from NY to Florida and across the western plains of America. Once just a Trance DJ from the Midwest, LaRue, to date, has had the privilege of working with some of the largest names in the music industry. He prides himself on not only being able to spin various genres, but also playing live atop his sets, which he originally called "Live on Wax." Soren LaRue has been an electronic music producer for over a decade, Classically trained in both the piano and guitar and has been producing music for select labels. Some of his production accomplishments include remixes for various labels: System Recordings | Source of Gravity | Protium Music | Visionary Mindz | Televisionary | SINsation Sound | Biohazard Digital | XDN | Label X Records | Galaxy Traxx.. Beyond that, some of his tracks personal tracks have seen great media/licensing exposure through the past 5 years. Two of which were licensed by the cartoon driven, car insurance company, Esurance.com (www.esurance.com – the “Lost” episode). The tracks were “Extra-terrestrial (Oko Tek mix)” and “Search for Innerchild (Adam Jay mix).” His label has been doing well and renowned artists such as Oko Tek (Holmes Ives), DJ Thee-o, Avex Axiom, Submerge 101, DJ Hightorque, Alucard (Peter McGowan), Adam Jay, OTG… (as well as countless other artists and vocalists) have contributed to the label with remix work and support. One of his earlier works, “Innerchild,” was featured on Sony’s www.acidplanet.com for a remix contest. |
