Some people live, sleep and breathe electronic music. Kev Obrien is undoubtedly one of those people. As an avid lover of dance music since the mid-90's, this rising artist is well-versed in all aspects of the industry, and dedicates his entire life toward music. Kev Obrien's musical inspiration is driven by the works of legends such as Sasha, John Digweed & Dave Seaman. Mr. Obrien tightly knits his mixes and digs deep to create a seamless flow of quality tech house, techno, minimal, and progressive.
As an event promoter, Kev Obrien successfully promomoted over 50 events across the Southeast U.S. over the span of 6 years, while harnessing his DJ skills during these years. In 2007, he relocated to New York, and hasn't looked back since.
2008 has been a productive year for Kev Obrien. After a wild week at WMC in Miami, Kev has been gaining moreand more popularity in New York, and was also a featured guest on Stream-FM Radio and friskyRadio. His well- executed sets have caught the eye of both Proton radio, and danceradio.gr, both of which have awarded him highly coveted monthly residencies. Kev has also been announced as the newest member of the prestigious MyPromoPool, which is home to legendary members such as Paul Van Dyk, Dave Seaman & Jody Wisternoff, just to
name a few.
On top of all his recent accomplishments, Kev also does music reviews for ProgressiveHouse.com, a site that is rapidly becoming one of the most useful and frequented EDM sites on the net. And in cooperation with longtime friend and colleague, Christopher Craig, Kev has recently formed the label Stranjj Recordings, which will play host to a wide variety of EDM genres. The duo together are known simply as 'Stranjjur', and they are in the midst of working on the group, and label's first release.
In an era where DJs come a dime a dozen, Kev Obrien stands head and shoulders above the ever-increasing population of up and coming DJs. Stay tuned.
