I have a real passion for electronic dance music. Trance, progressive house, tech-house and techno really help me relax and put a smile on my face. I have my own decks because DJing is the dream and I have a fairly large collection of Mp3's. I love to go out and socialise and have a good time with my friends. I see going out to pubs and bars as a great chance to meet other people too. I am a massive music fan and I have been since I was a very young age. My dad would let me listen to his old LP collection, Tears For Fears, The Beatles, America and Mike Oldfield. Just in the past 10 or so years I have established a love for dance music, right back to the styles of Robert Miles - Children, Energy 52 Cafe Del Mar, Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel. These are just 3 of the records that have made me want to explore and listen to more and more dance music. I have alsways been influence by the trance scene. Back in the days when Dave Pearce presented Dance Anthems on Radio 1. I would tune in for the full 3 hours (eventually 2 hours) to gain inspiration from the stuff he was playing. I then discovered Tiesto's Revolution CD and was blown away by the music that was on there. Tracks like LN Movement - Golden Desert (Part 2), which still, to this day remains as one of my favourite trance tracks. The Darkside CD will forever be opne of my favourite full length CD mixes. From Tiesto, I then went through a phase of liking different styles of trance, which is when I stumbled upon the master of set building, Markus Schulz. Since late 2007, I have tried to keep up with what Schulz has been playing and producing etc. His track selection and mixing are sublime and I recommend any trance fan top check this guy out, and if you can get to one of his gigs, it really is an experience you have to live. I have recently been given a 2 hour monthly radioshow on Pure.FM. The Progressive Showcase will blend together some of the finest deep, dark and melodic progressive house. |
